Best WebSpatial Project with PICO
Build a spatial web app that runs in the browser but feels native to XR. WebSpatial unlocks immersive experiences without requiring a native app - lowering the barrier to entry while raising the ceiling on reach. This category rewards impactful, well-crafted spatial web experiences that demonstrate what the open web can become in an XR-first world.
đź’ˇ Instant access, cross-platform reach, and the full power of web tooling - in a headset.

Judging Criteria
- Concept & InnovationÂ
The project goes beyond an idea - it solves a real problem, creates value, or introduces a new experience that wasn’t possible before. We’re looking for projects that could attract, engage, and retain real users.
- Technical Implementation
Show what you actually built, not just what you imagined. The project should run reliably on the intended platform, feel polished, and demonstrate meaningful use of the provided tools. Presentation matters, including demo video, description, and slides.
- Experience & Design
The overall experience should be intuitive, immersive, and visually appealing. Interaction, flow, and polish matter, and your demo should clearly communicate how the project works and why it’s engaging.
Project Requirements
- Functionality: The project must run consistently on its intended platform and function as shown in the demo video and description.
- New Projects: All submissions must be newly created and not previously submitted to any other hackathon. Teams may prepare mockups or fine-tune world models beforehand but no coding is allowed before the event.
- Third-Party Integrations: Any SDKs, APIs, or data must be used in accordance with licensing terms. Sponsor and Administrator reserve the right to request proof of such authorization or licensure.
- Category Specific Requirements: Must be a web-based spatial app using WebSpatial that runs on the PICO Emulator.
